Nagra Classic Phono Phono Stage Heritage The Nagra VPS was a truly respected phono stage. Consequently, the new Classic Phono arrives after years of success. This outstanding unit directly replaces the esteemed VPS. Indeed, the earlier Nagra PL-P inspired the VPS design. Therefore, the VPS became the essential benchmark for the current design. We proudly continue Swiss innovation since 1951. Enjoy this new level of analogue excellence. Design This component uses a full tube Class A design. Firstly, it totalises four high-quality triodes. Moreover, Nagra Laboratory individually selects all tubes. This ensures peak performance and matching. The new generation of custom-made Nagra input transformers are key. Specifically, the MC input uses the magnetic core from the HD PREAMP. The power supply is built-in and is very silent. However, it can be upgraded easily with an optional Classic PSU. Flexibility The Nagra Classic Phono provides superb cartridge matching flexibility. As a result, it features two distinct inputs. One input handles both MC and MM cartridges. The other is a dedicated MM input. Furthermore, adjustable gain ranges from 38 to 64 dB. Cartridge loading is adjustable and fully customisable. This allows precise matching for your collection. You can also select RIAA, TELDEC, and COLUMBIA curves. A mono selector accommodates mono records easily. Impression The first notes immediately impress the listener. Music strikes with wonderful density and rich extension. In addition, the sheer audio quality is instantly audible. The linear phase response gives a very faithful stereo image. Truly, the three-dimensional sound stage is impressive. Instrument timbre sounds extremely natural. Finally, critical listening leads you to rediscover your music collection. Ultimately, you will simply enjoy the entire experience.
