Notably, bespoke capacitors—developed exclusively for this model in collaboration with renowned specialist Wurth Elektronik—form an integral part of its distinctive design architecture. A custom-designed 630VA high-power toroidal transformer with a large filter capacity in the power supply (44,000uF per channel) and cascaded voltage regulators in the analogue and digital sections upholds QUAD’s renowned reputation for musical integrity. Capitalising on QUAD’s rich history in analogue and digital audio solutions, this DAC chip implementation ensures astonishingly-low jitter levels with improved transparency and imaging for faithful reproduction of digital source material – source materials that can extend into PCM up to 768 kHz and DSD512, allowing for lifelike detail across a wide range of audio formats. Utilising the full strengths of the ES 9038 Pro, the PLATINA INTEGRATED also offers listeners the ability to upsample lower-resolution PCM streams to either 352.8kHz or 384kHz, unlocking greater detail and smoothness from compressed or legacy recordings.
